Strateco initiated and now facility manages B2B Compliance.
In 2003 the UK electrical and electronic industry was faced with the forthcoming challenges of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. We presented a solution which gave control to the industry - not to the recycling sector which sought to profit from this 'Producer Responsibility' legislation.
This solution was supported by 13 trade associations and resulted in Strateco facility managing 'B2B Compliance' - the UK's largest not-for-profit WEEE Compliance Scheme with over 430 members - ranging from SMEs to multinational corporations. The Scheme, established in 2004, is widely recognised as delivering a best value for Producers. Strateco, representing B2B Compliance, works in close co-operation with the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Environment Agency.
